Regular or large: which flap does my cat need?+
Cats up to 4.5 kg use the regular flap. Cats over 4.5 kg need the large flap. The opening is roomier so a bigger cat passes through without squeezing.
Will the microchip flap read my cat's existing chip?+
Yes. It reads the standard microchip your vet implanted. There is nothing to attach to the collar and nothing to activate.
Can a strange cat still push its way through the microchip flap?+
No. The flap stays locked for any animal whose chip is not registered. That is the whole point of it. Your cat comes and goes, and the neighbourhood's boldest cats stay outside.
Where can you fit a cat flap?+
Glass sliding doors, fixed glass panels, double-glazed units, windows and aluminium doors. If it is glass or aluminium, we can almost certainly fit a flap in it.
Does the flap lock at night?+
The manual flaps include a manual lock, and the microchip flap locks automatically for unregistered animals. You decide when the door is open for business.
My door is double-glazed. Can you still fit a flap?+
Yes. We build a new double-glazed unit with the flap opening cut before tempering, so the insulation of your door is preserved.
How long does the whole thing take?+
The glass has to be made, tempered and glazed before fitting day, so we confirm your timing on the quote. The fitting visit itself is quick. Most of the work happens before we arrive.
